CRYOTON announces a new series of FLL units and multichannel modules, based on the Series E115. Here we present some of possible configurations of the dc-SQUID-electronics for different purposes based on the models E115-L and E115-DB.

The Model E115-L is a conventional, very compact, wide purpose dc-bias SQUID-electronics unit designed for use with LTS dc-SQUIDs. The Model E115-DB is a universal ac/dc-bias SQUID-electronics unit designed for both of HTS- and LTS dc-SQUIDs. 

1. Model SE-5010-L  -  Single channel dc-SQUID-electronics for LTS dc-SQUIDs:

  • Model E115-L        FLL-unit
  • Model CU301-L     universal 1-channel Control Unit
  • Associated cables
  • Software for system control

2. Model SE-5010-DB  -  Single channel dc-SQUID-electronics for LTS and HTS dc-SQUIDs:

  • Model E115-DB     FLL-unit
  • Model CU301-F     universal 1-channel Control Unit
  • Associated cables
  • Software for system control

Items 1,2 are a wide-purpose FLL which can be easy adapted for any LTS- and HTS-SQUIDs, fabricated by existent technological Companies and groups. They have a wide ranges for changing of bias-current levels and magnitude of modulation frequency.

The FLL- units E115-L have the following parameters::

Internal noise level of the preamplifier   0.7 nV/ÖHz.
Modulation frequency   100 kHz (max. 400 kHz)
Number of the feedback ranges (current feedback and flux feedback)   2
Transfer function of the feedback circuit   1 V/F0, 0.1 V/F0
Bandwidth of the output signals   16 kHz (max. 200 kHz)
Dynamic range   130 dB (max. 160 dB).
Slew rate  up to 500000 F0/s

The FLL- units 115-DB have the following parameters:

Internal noise level of the preamplifier  1 nV/ÖHz.
Modulation frequency  200 kHz (max. 500 kHz)
ac-bias frequency   up to 250 kHz
Number of the feedback ranges  2
Transfer function of the feedback circuit  1 V/F0, 0.1 V/F0
Bandwidth of the output signal  16 kHz (max. 200 kHz)
Dynamic range  130 dB (max. 160 dB).
Slew rate   up to 100000 F0/s

3. Model SE-5030 - DB  -  Three channel dc-SQUID-electronics for HTS dc-SQUIDs:

  • Model E1106-DB     6-channel FLL Unit
  • Model CU303-F        universal 6-channel Control Unit
  • Associated cables
  • Software for system control

This Model E-5030-DB realizes an electronic second order gradiometer based on a three HTS dc-SQUID-magnetometrers. The box of electronics can be extended up to six measuring channels (include additional three channels for reference XYZ-magnetometer)

The next sets of a dc-SQUID-electronics (Models E-5120-L, E-5220-L, E-5960-L) are designed  for application in a multichanel biomagnetic measuring systems.

4Model SE-5120-L  - Twelve channel dc-SQUID-electronics for LTS dc-SQUIDs:

  • Model E1112-L    12-channel FLL module
  • Model CU312       universal 12-channel Control Unit
  • Associated cables
  • Software for system control

The Model SE-5120-L is a basic set of dc-SQUID-electronics for MagnetoCardioGraphic (MCG) systems. It contains all necessary associated circuits such as additional filters, amplifiers and Electronic Noise Suppression System (ENSS). The total number of channels can be easy changed from one to twelve according to the individual requirement of user. For MCG-systems we propose four configurations of this electronics - for a single-, four- , seven- and nine-channel systems (XYZ reference magnetometer is included in all of these sets)

5Model SE-5220-L  - Twenty two channel dc-SQUID-electronics for LTS dc-SQUIDs:

  • Model E1112-L 12-channel FLL-module (two boxes)
  • Model CU322   universal 22-channel Control Unit
  • Associated cables
  • Software for system control

The set of dc-SQUID-electronics of the Model E-5220-L was designed and fabricated for universal MCG/MEG measuring module MM-5193-G. This set of electronics contains 19 signal channels and three channels of a reference XYZ-magnetometer associated in two boxes. The presence of a high resolution Data Acquisition System based on a 24-bit ADCs (each SQUID-channel has an individual ADC-channel) and Electronic Noise Suppression System (ENSS) makes this Model very useful for constructing of many possible system's configurations.

6Model SE-5960-L -  Ninety six channel dc-SQUID-electronics for LTS dc-SQUIDs:

  • Model E1116-L 16-channel FLL-module (six boxes) )
  • Model CU396   universal 96-channel Control Unit
  • Associated cables
  • Software for system control

The Model E-5960-L dc-SQUID-electronics was designed for a multichannel MagnetoEncephaloGraphs (MEG). Its doubled version was supplied for the multichannel MEG-system in Los Alamos National Lab.

 All of presented here multichannel sets of the dc-SQUID-electronics are digitally controlled and can be combined in any multichannel array. You can easy apply them as a "bricks" in constructing of your own dc-SQUID-based measuring system.
